Since that place I was talking about was our only cajun place, it got to be pretty full.  That's why I went straight from work with my some other guys.  The place was nice and quiet and we secured a seat at the bar.  We used to go there alot, so we knew the bartenders and there was seldom an empty drink in front of us.  By the time the crowd came my buddies and I were already half gone.

They always had live music, but unfortunately on Fat Tuesday it was always the "house band".  That means the owner/chef was playing.  He didn't play all that bad, but it got old. ::)

I don't think "not so hotable holidays" is the right place to honor this. >:(

Unlike the present folks up on Capital Hill.  We here do honor our fathers grandfathers and fallen friends and comrades.  Your right mebbe it doesn't belong in not so notable but the banks post offices and schools were open.< They didn't note it

Trinity check out this link, it's about a ggguncle of mine Richard Fields,  if he'd had his way there might not  have been no Alamo,  but they hung him bout 1827 so that ended that, ;D

Chronicles of Springfield Mo.
Campbell (Indian Agent) had complained the previous year of local whites trafficking in illegal alcohol. Prominent among the lawbreakers were John Denton and Solomon Yoachum:

"Solomon Yoachum has erected a distillery... and has made a quantity of peach brandy and has been selling it for some time in quantities to the Indians. There is a number of those outlaw characters all below him who are selling whiskey
