Been shooting the real powder since 1978 or so.

The only time I use the "other" stuff is when I'm shooting indoors.  The range staff and other shooters seem to object to the smoke and fragrance for some reason.

I started shooting muzzle loaders in 1973.  The first 2 years I shot 24 pounds of powder ;D.  I shot NMLRA pistol for several years and worked for Tedd Cash of Cash Manufacturing, maker of many muzzle loading products.

When I started shooting CAS in 93 I thought I would shoot real gunpowder but soon found that I detested loading black powder rounds and didn't like the mess of the fired brass :(.  So I just used Unique like I had for IPSC.  Then switched to Titegroup.

Now that I want to shoot my Smith & Wesson New Model Number 3s I realize that I must use black powder so I am back to it for at least some matches.  I just bought some Magtech brass hulls and will need to earn how to load them. ???.

Who knows I might convert full time ;)

Maybe the reason there have been so few responses, is because we're all out cleaning our guns.  Been shooting BP for close to 7 years now.  I love making the RO and spotters cough.  Besides I still think if I yell CLANG!!! after I shoot, they will think I hit the target.  They sure can't see it through the smoke.

That Heathen powder is Ok , but lacks the grin factor when you miss....mostly you grimace when you miss using it, with BP, you just grin wider!

Never popped a cap on heathen smokeyless at a CAS match.  Never shot enythin' but Gunfighter.  Only fillers in my brass are more BP.

The roar, fire, and smoke take me back to a simpler time.  No lawyers, no liberal judges, just sixgun justice.  Like they said in The Life and Times, "it may not be the way the west was, but it's the way it should have been".

My ammo is loaded till I'm all out of brass, my knives are sharp, very sharp, my guns are clean and they are talkin' to me.  Cabin fever takes extra suds to endure.  Dang.  I gotta shoot!

Actually, I'm going to be shooting FC next month.  Couldn't wait till summer.  And I prefer GUNPOWDER.  Tried Pyrodex pellets ONCE; they were okay but nothing like good old black powder.
