56-50 BP chrono data needed

Howdy to the camp!

I was wondering if anyone has chrono data for Goex BP loads with the Hell R High Water designed, Dakota Widowmaker produced 350 modified LEE (I guess that would be a HRHWDWML bullet<g>).

Someone had some data 5 or 6 months ago, but it was with a weak crimp.  I guess the BP would need a heavy crimp.  I load 45 grains 777 FFG for my Taylor's infantry rifle, and it is hot (though no signs of excessive preasurei.e. hard extraction, primer flattening, etc).  I can probably drop tube that much Goex, but I wonder if it would be nearly as hot as the 777.  I usually have better accuracy with the BP than the 777.

18.5 grns by weight of this powder with this bullet gave 1026 ft/sec.

35 gr. GOEX FF            931 FPS                             873 FPS
40 gr. GOEX FF          1016 FPS                             965 FPS
35 gr. GOEX CTG         957 FPS                             939 FPS*                                         883 FPS*
40 gr. GOEX CTG       1017 FPS*                          1033 FPS                                          996 FPS

* This load gave the lowest standard deviation.
All loads used the following components.
·   Cut down 50-70 cases.
·   50 Cal. bullet shortened Lyman 515141, 50/50 soft lead/wheelweight, 375gr.
·   52 Cal. bullet Rapine 535370, 50/50 soft lead/wheelweight, 370gr.
·   Bullet lube 50/50 Bore Butter/Bee's Wax.
·   Winchester Large Rifle Magnum Primers.
·   35 gr. loads used Ox Yoke 50 cal. "Wonder Wads" over powder. (This was back before they greased them)
Chrony chronograph located 15 feet from muzzle.
No wind, temp 820.

I did have a chance to sneak in a BP (GOEX FFFg) along with some smokeless rounds at the range last time.

The one I did fire rang up 1079 fps... I used Winchester Large Rifle Magnum primers and a full case of powder. (which was 45gr through a drop tube under my 350gr bullets)

zero leading from 21:1 alloy.

My loads for the Taylor's 56-50 Spencer carbine are as follows:  Starline brass and Federal 215 primers, neck sized, charge is 34 grains FFG Wano, with Lyman bullet 515139 sized to .512 and lubed with own lube.  Bullet seated and moderate crimp to OAL of 1.525.  Using a Shooting Chrony, the avg. is 900 fps. at approx. 15 ft. from muzzle.  The powder charge is drop tubed 24" drop tube, and compressed about 1/8 inch. Bullet is cast from alloy no harder than 30-1.
