It probably would qualify if you change out the front sight to eliminate the red insert, which is not allowed under the rules, and use a felt marker to black out the rear sight white outline.

I've searched for an answer on this, and this 20-year-old thread is the best I could find.

Are the "Hunter" model Ruger Blackhawks with the integral scope ring mounts SASS legal, provided that the iron sights were modified to be more iron-y?

After plowing through the Covenants, I actually don't know.  There is no mention of that hunter rib although it falls under the "things not mentioned" and It is not a replica of "anything."  Ergo, my knee-jerk reaction is NO.  But don't take that as "the" answer.  Of course, I do have to ask, "Why Bother??"

Thanks for looking!

I'd like a hunting pistol that I could also use as a backup gun for CAS if I ever need to send one of my main guns into a gunsmith.

It always helps me justify a gun purchase if I can use it for at least two different activities. Especially when one of those activities is a biweekly event and the other is approximately biannual. (I've never shot a scoped pistol before but it sounds interesting.)
