Shot Gun ammo

Need some help.  What kind of store bought shot gun ammo can be used at cowboy shoots.
SASS book says I need to use #4 lead birdshot or small . But other Cas web pages say that AA featherlight or AA light load can be used.

Any unplated lead shot #4 or smaller can be used. Most often it is #7 1/2 or #8. The AA featherlight is what a lot of people use.

Check with your local club as their rules may very, our says you can shoot anything bigger than 6 shot, and you don't need hunting loads, all the targets fall over with Win AA featherlights.  Less is more, so to speak.

If you have a Sportsman Warehouse near by, I use the Estate brand target loads.  They cost about $3.50 instead of the $5 a box for Win AA or Rem lights.  I find they recoil about the asme and fall out of my SxS fine.

I used to use the Featherlites then we found the Estate.  That's all that we have used for about the past two years.  They are so cheap that many people around here have even quit reloading shotgun ammo.
