As far as sizes for the tubes, 3/4" thinwall electrical conduit works well.  This allows you to drill 3/4" holes in the wood block.  The i.d. on the tubing is very close to the headsize on the 56-50.  You are in for some weight when you carry that rascal fully loaded.  I felt like a pack mule with one.  I much prefer the belt pouch.  But, what ever floats your boat.  Enjoy.

Thanks, that will help. The idea of using electric tinntubing have struck me, got to ask a friend about get`n some of it.
The weight is why I make the smallest one with 6 tubes.  It still makes 42 rounds to lug along, but I am in good health and the exersice won`t do me no harm. When shooting CAS I plan on shoot`n the 3 rounds loaded on the loading table first, then with the help of one tube load the 7 on the clock. <BG> I told my friend and one of my hardest competiors last night about my plan, he responded with: so, you wont be champion no more? I said no, I`m let`n you have the honors...!!!! ;D ::)
Honour is like a an island, steep and without a shore.
Once you leave you can newer return.!

I just bought and received a Blakeslee Box from an eBay seller.  It is a ten-tube model and done in a far better fashion than ever I could make.  The price was $200.00, but again the quality is outstanding.  The name of the seller is azhiltons and you can search to find them on eBay.  Unless you are really handy with wood and leather this is a bargain!  The tubes seem to be made of aluminum.  The e-mail address direct is azhiltons@msn.com and the maker is Robert Hilton.  There is a $14.00 charge for shipping and delivery confirmation.
