While this is not a shooting event, it is a great time for the family, and old west enthusiast!  You can dress up and even wear your guns if you wish.  Come on out to Fort Concho, Texas the first weekend of December and experience a timewarp to 19th century frontier fort life.  There will be plenty of activities to pique your interests.  There will be artillery fire, as well as reenactors doing firing drills, and even the cavalry and local hostiles (indians) will be duking it out on the parade field.  There will be sutlers setup for you to peruse their wares, and lots of food, fun and games.

Lew,

Make sure you put this event on the calendar here on CC.  And thanks for the heads up in advance.  Should be fun and I hope to make it this year.

Adios,

Gen Lew Wallace

I did that straightaway pard.  :)  In fact, I found the idea after reading your post about the whoopin' coming up in October.  So I went to the calendar and inside there you have the option of sending the info into any thread area you wish.  I like the options of this board very much!   :D

Aimless Jane, Hondo Hawk, & I went last year & really enjoyed it. There was a little group there singing songs & playing instruments from the 1860 - 1890 period. We bought a couple of their CD's.  8)    :)

I believe that was the 97th Florida string regiment.  Make sure you look me up this year Col.  I will be driving around in a golf cart wearing a uniform looking important, but not really doing much.  ;)
