Bear with me a bit.  Trinity is teaching me how to post pictures.

The first one is an "ivory" inlay on a '73 stock done by Russ N. Hound from a necklace I wear.

The second one is a brass "surface mount" on a '66 stock.  Russ did the bird as an experiment (I don't think he offers such a thing regularly, though.  Mighty pricey.  You'd have to check with him.) the "tacks" are brass nails with approximately 1/16 heads.  Not traditional or authentic, but I like it.

Hey, look!  It worked!

Thanks, little brother.

Now, how do I make 'em smaller, but enlargeable?

Spooky.

Sometimes I wish I haden't given up drinking all those years ago.  When I was drunk these things made sense more often, and if they didn't I didn't much care...even when I could remember it.

I'm getting messages that not everyone can see both of my rifle stocks  toward the end of page 5.  Would someone let me know if there's a problem?

Thanks.

This is one of my favorite threads.... I love the look of the 1860 Henry and the 1866 "Henry Improved" Winchester

I don't see as many "iron" framed versions as I thought I would, but, still though, the Henry is my favorite rifle for SASS/CAS/NCOWS events.

good work everyone!!!

Tuolumne Lawman

Well Heck,

copy the pictures from my thread and post that iron frame here too!  I can email a larger JPG to you.

Here's mine....
Besides having a refinished stock, (without sanding or removing any wood) & (can't stand the blood red walnut they come with) it has about a $100.00 worth of solid head brass tacks...and a 1861 confederate half dollar as a front sight... I distressed the stock by leaving most of the dings in it, and added a few to give it a good used look....
