Did anyone else see this article in American Handgunner?  It was very good and the gun looked great and apparently shot very well too.  Until recently I never knew we sent those over to the British who were desperate for any and all arms.  I can just imagine "Tommy" fanning a SAA at "Fritz" armed with a Luger. :D  Boy, I bet that didn't make Fritz's day.

Capt. John Fitzgerald

It has always been my understaning that the "lend lease" single actions went to the non-military "Home Guard" units.
You can't change the wind, but you can always change your sails.

Capt., I believe you're correct. A lot of them didn't come back, IIRC. 8) ::)
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....

You are probably right that most of them went to the home guard and didn't go overseas to help defend the Empire. Most of a lot of our guns never made it back and the ones that were donated by civilians through the NRA were just dumped in the ocean. :o  Britain is on her own this time, all of my guns are staying on our side of the pond. :D
