On Saturday night I placed an order with Texas Jacks for two Uberti 1859 NMA revolvers since they were on sale.  Today they called me and said they were out of stock on the Ubertis but would I take the Cimmaron instead?

What is the difference?
Will the Cimmaron take the same R&D and Kirst conversions (if I decide to go that route later)?
Will the Cimmaron work with the Uberti (or other) spare cylinders?

Lemme know....they are expecting my call back and I want my guns!

Thanks!!

I thought cimarron was ubertis.

I believe that Law Dawg is correct in that the Cimarron is a Uberti. Every Cimarron I've ever bought was made by Uberti.

Thanks to both Law Dawg & Marshal Will for their answers.  Texas Jacks tells me they are different but also the same.  They claim the Cimmarons are built to a "higher standard" and have some additional engraving on them.  What that means I don't know.  This is just the standard blue model.  When they come I will see what differences there are...if any.

Having visited the Uberti factory I can assure you that they do not build different quality guns for different distributors. I have read somewhere that the US distributors may work on the innards of some Italian products but the fit and finish is the same for everybody.

Cimarron tunes, times and slicks up the Ubertii's they put their name on. Kinda the same as sending yours out to a gunsmith for tuning, only these will be excellent from the box. That is the difference I have had several Cimarrons and they were slick from the box and had a lifetime gaurentee as well. I recommend jumping on that deal! I would if'n I had the money and that offer right now.
