I remember an article writen by Massad Ayoob on long gun reliablility and can't find it.  My pistols will be cimarron lightnings but I've heard about reliablilty issues running the 38 in carbines.  If I remember correctly he reccomended the 44-40 for your long guns as that was more "authentic" anyway.  Has anyone had problems with the special cycling in your carbines?

I think it was fifty eight rounds Saturday.  .357 Magnum thru a Marlin '94 CS, powered by Holy Black.  Jack the lever, pull the trigger.  Go bang.  Repeat......

Just like it did the last time and the time before that and the time before that..................

It did the same thing with .38 Specials when I was shootin' smokeless............

I haven't had problems with the Marlin or the 73s.  The 92 was a whole different story though.

Mmmmmm.  Interestin'.  That ole Rossi '92 of mine fed 358477 Lymans in .38 Special cases.  Neither of my Marlins will.......

Got a 73, 66 and Marlin 94 carbine that feed 38s just perfect, that sure isn't the case with either of the 92s out of the box.
Took a hell of a lot of work to make them feed right and they still like to jack a round out from time to time.

Wunner if they changed sumthin' or if there were different specs per manufacturer.  That '92 of mine was built in the early eighties, maybe before.  I got it in '82 or '83 I think...........

Could be brother,

The one Bucksaw has was made in the mid 90s and the one Whet has was built in 2002.

The older one fed better out of the box than the newer one, but it wasn't flawless either.
