Thought I would post this here instead of elsewhere on CasCity because of the heightened interest in NCOWS in accurate, verifiable information about old and older guns and their performance. While the guns and data are newer than the NCOWS timeframe, both do apply backwards in time into the late 1800s. About the only major technological changes are the switch from black powder to bulk nitro powders to non-bulk "modern" nitro powders. For those using "modern" doubles from the late 1800s into the first half of the 1900s, the data are directly applicable.
