Azcoyote

Got mine, brass civilian 45 LC.  Now to pawn off my 44 mag "Henry" BB to my son.  Hope he doesn't hate me for it.  The stepson is after the 1873 - not a chance - cold, dead fingers and all that.

Now, sign on AzCoyote to the roll.

Just noticed this thread but count me in. I've got an old Navy Arms Henry 44wcf that I like to get out and shoot once in a while.

Got to use that ladder sight couple weeks ago. Won the long range pistol caliber at the NCOWS eastern regional. Not real long range but it was around 225 yards.

I've been told the Big Lube bullets werent good for longer ranges but they work at least out to 225 yards. Once I got er dialed in she was spot on with the MAV44 big lubes and a case full of 2F KIK.

I just bought my second Henry. This one is a "Military" in the white. My first one is a Steel frame carbine, with an engraved reciever.

Just had a look at my brass framed 44-40 Military Henry.

The barrel is marked - [Henry's Patent October 16 1860] on the top line. Bottom line - [Manufactured For Canadian Arms Corp.]
Between the rear sight and the receiver and on the lower tang it is stamped - C004

I have no idea who the Canadian Arms Corp. is as they don't exist today.

is there a two letter code on the side of the receiver or barrel?

this would help define a timeline of when it was made.

No, just Italian proof marks and the catalog number - 1558.

Oddly, I have another gun with a "double 0" prefix, (005XXX) - an ERMA PPK knock off! I told the dealer I wanted "007" and he said - "So did I!"

The the two letter code [ ] is bracketed like this,  may be on the left side of the Barrel behind the sight

Later guns have it hidden under tang and the stock needs to be removed to see it...

Does your magazine follower have orange rubber pad ? if so your gun is 2005 or newer> and if 2010 the date code may be hidden

Thanks.
