I suppose I'm overdue as well, since I posted that stuff about my steel framed Uberti recently.  I hope to have it back out to the range next week and find out if it was a loose nosecap issue or something as severe as a bent barrel that caused it to shoot so far to the right.

Add me in,  I have military version 44-40 in the white barrel by Uberti

Kinship with Kings patent improved Henry is extended, as I believe we've done so before.

There is a 73 Board & the Henry Board, the Improved Henry should not be out in the cold .

Ad me to the list.  Just purchased my Cimarron Civil War variant in .45 Colt this past March.  I've only had it out three times but it's by far one of my favorite guns to shoot.

Count me in!  Uberti 1860.  Used for Cowboy & reeacting.

I guess I could have joined last year, because I bought a Uberti (Cimarron) 1866 in .38. I haven't had much time to shoot it.
Last week I received a Uberti (Taylors') 1860 Henry in .45. I'll just be shooting smokeless for now.

Garret

Hello The Camp,
I'd like to join in with a Cimarron brass framed Military version in .44 Special.  I acquired it from a gentleman who posted it in the classified section on the forum last year and am now having the time to load and get out to shoot.  My preliminary loads have been with black powder (so far 26 grn. Goex 3F) and a .430 215 grain bullet.  I've not done any serious target work yet, just some short range testing for function and fun.  I plan on working on loading various versions to get close to original Henry RF ballistics and have gleaned a lot from fellow Henry shooters on this forum.

The previous owner claims to have had success shooting .44 Colt as well as the .44 Special and I plan on experimenting with this as well.  There are a few marks on the wood and a little wear on the metal here and there, but overall she's in good shape.  I don't know if Cimarron had their Military variants done with non-varnished stock, but mine has a nice oil finish on it and I'm quite happy.

Years ago I had an early Uberti .44-40 from Allen Arms in Santa Fe, but as happens to a lot of us, I foolishly sold it.  I've regretted this for some years and was determined to get one again.  After reading on this forum I noted a number of posts about the .44 Special versions and put this on my "want list".   I figured it would be a hard one to get ahold of but kept looking.  When this one popped up I couldn't let it get away.

Here are some pics of my prize!   I've not posted pics on the forum before so I hope this works.  If not I will figure it from advice here.

Thanks so much for having this forum!

Hello All,
Well.....I've tried using the photobucket directions I followed as posted by Dick Dastardly on the genral forum and haven't had any luck attaching the resized images.  I then used the paste method as described

but this didn't put the image in the post.  Sorry for the snag.....when I can put more time into iit I'll pursue that.

All the best,

I figure I should post in here finally.  I've got an iron framed Henry in 45LC that I plan to use in more cowboy shoots next year.  Still working on acquiring all the other guns necessary for that.  I'm a huge history nerd and got really attracted to 'the first' repeater and first lever gun.  Its actually my first breech loading rifle.  I'm working my way forward in history.  I started with flintlocks.
