Haven't got mine yet either....but since I haven't been home...I guess I can wait.

I have to point out something though.
In the old period pictures of the day, you'd see this monsterous pile or wagon loaded with buffalo hides or bones and a fine buffalo gun leaning up against the pile.  This fine cover art depicts one hide and 4 rifles.

Since we have one hide and skull but several rifles....I'm thinkin'....man! That buffalo was shur a tough one!  It took 4 rifles to bag him!

Great cover!  Can't wait to read between the pages!

Uh, it's been a while since I was in a fight.
I panicked!

Well, or that damn Cuban cigar got me riled up

Bob, ya used ta get paid fer shootin' them, today ya got to pay a lot to shoot one, after he bought all them rifles he could only 'ford to shoot one. ::)

Grizzle;  You got the image of my persona, a remittance man, but I deliberalely mixed the Norman French "Mouton", with the Saxon "Black".

Surly Bob, I like your logic.  That was one BAD Buff!! :o ;)

Are you gonna be with that Ornery brother of yourn at the Convention?

I love the smell of Black Powder in the morning!

Surly Bob

Mr. Bailey:
I recon I'll have to be at the convention....holding Ornery's leash.

He gets loco right after his first beer....then he usually pulls those 45 smokewagons.
Most folks wouldn't mind but it gets hard to breathe in all that smoke.
Then all the ladies leave and folks try to string him up and we usually end up out the back door and on the horses.

This is his idea of fun....but it just spoils my evening....

Grizzle Bear

Surly Bob, you're just not lookin' at things right!

If'n they had placed those four rifles up agin' the pile o'hides took with 'em, you wouldn't have been able to see the guns!

;D ;D ;D

Good point G-Bear.  Now, remember that guys like you and Ornery can't wear that Buff robe when there's shootin' going on!
That is, unless you are trying to sneak up on the critter and you let the rest of us know first!
Otherwise, someone might want to shoot the "short legged shaggy buffalo that ain't running too fast."  Ha Ha!

From what I understand, the B-hunters could just shoot and shoot.  And the Buffalo, being one of the dumber critters on the planet, would just stand around waiting for the rainstorm!
(black powder guns = Thunder...but no rain!)

Someday....Ornery and I have to go on a hunting expedition for one of these wooly critters....
I'd prefer to get one on the run...from horseback.  That might be a little more sporting...

I'll hang back while you do this.  Someone needs to be able to call 911. :D  Give me a good Buffler' gun, a little practice (since I've never shot one) and there won't be any need for my short legged and portly self to be running anywhere 'cept to the dinner table to dig in to some Buffler' roast!
