Seeing many shooters (like myself) hold their holster with the other hand while drawing, I asked if anyone had a way to stop the holster from rideing up . Some answerd with ideas from rivits to thongs ect. Not wanting anything on the inside of my holster, or wanting it secured permanetly to my gunbelt, I devised the following idea. it works perfectly, gives you 100% confidence in your holster being just where it should be when drawing and re-holstering. Its a small piece of stiff leather (2"X 3"),stitched to the FENDER, and not the holster itself. I measured the distance of the belt width down,(2-1/2") and stitched in the piece. The distance to my first loop is 4-1/2". so there was to much slop when drawing.  Pics should be self explanitory:

I know not everyone needs this, but some do, and I sure did. If anyone needs more info, feel free to e-mail me. RR

In case you don't know me, I'm just a friend you hadn't met yet.

I built a pair with that as a feature for my good friend Richard Mesner, a straight shooting pard up in Virginia.  I'm not for sure but,  I do not think he uses it any more.  He had wanted a lot of drop built into the holster and I feared this might create a weak spot that could develope into somewhat a hinge and this added stifness as well as the locking feature.  That rig is several years old now and apparently doing well without the modification.

That's a good idea, pard. I'll remember that in case I need it. Thanks for the pics.

Rascal, that's a slick solution.  ;D ;D

I use a thong that goes through the loop that's around the holster and then through the skirt.  As long as I make sure the knot is tight it works good.  ;)
