My local dealer just got some 1860 army's in yesterday. They looked very nice and had steel frames but were about half as much as the Ubertis they usually stock. Has anyone had experience with Traditions revolvers? I know they make kits and have models with the brass/steel in the wrong places but these were perfect in configuration and were not part of a kit. They were going for 159$ and they usually sell Ubertis for 289$ Thanks

Galloway, I had heard that the Traditions didn't function as well in the long haul as the Uberties, but have no experience with them personally. I have shot several Piettas version of the same gun, and I thought at one time Pietta made guns for Traditions, but I don't know if that relationship still exists. Some of the Pietta guns had to have their cylinders reamed because Pietta made them smaller than the bore, thus undersizing the ball as it left the cylinder and entered the forcing cone. That made them inaccurate, but was an easy fix with a reamer to properly size them slighly larger than the bore.

I have one that I won as a door prize at the first annual match I shot at my club. A '51 Reb( brass frame, in .44). It had full cock problems that had to be addressed. I got that done, but still haven't gotten around to shooting it. Have no idea either if they're still Pietta guns or not. Supposedly, their quality has improved over the last few years( Pietta). Their SAA's are quite nice, whether that's happened to the C&B line I don't know at this time........Buck 8) ::)
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....

I believe they were Piettas IIRC. They seemed to function very nice in the store and for that price I think I'm gonna give em a try. Worst case it will look nice on the wall.
