Greetings All,

Can anyone help me with some information on 32-40 cases ? Is it possible to get some & if so from where. I have a 94 model John Wayne winchester but am unable to find anyone with any brass for it here in Australia, so I'm hoping someone will be able to point me in the right direction.

Can anyone tell me what the 32-40 round & the JW winchester are like, good or bad, I would just like to hear from you & get your input.

Thanks for your time & help, All the best from Australia.

Marshal, Cabela's has a listing for their obsolete Ammo for 32-40 Winchester loaded with 160 gr lead bullets for $34.99 a box of 20. I found it in the 2005 Shooting catalog under item # XS-21-5402-209.

I checked some reloading suppliers on the web, but didn't find any brass in 32-40 for sale. I know nothing about this cartridge other then its not in common use anymore. Winchester made a John Wayne Commemoratives in both US and Canadian marked guns in 1981. The listed value for the US Model is $1,195 (Unfired), and the John Wayne Canadian Model is $1,295 (Unfired). They made 49,000 of the US model and only 1,000 of the Canadian Model.

You may be able to ask Cabela"s who makes the brass.

Their website is "www.cabelas.com"

Hope this is some help to you.

Marshall, check with the fine folks at Buffalo Arms: http://www.buffaloarms.com/
I purchased some 32-40 Winchester brass from them a few months ago.  They
still list it among available cases.  They have been good folks to deal with.
Hope this helps.

I believe you can form some from 38-55's, might have to check the OAL for the case afterwards...........Buck 8) ::) :-\
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....

Marshal, Panhandle is correct. They are listed on page 8 (I believe) in the section for .219 thru .35Cal brass on their website. They've got two different listings for the 32-40 Win brass. The also carry the bullets as well.

Marshal, I believe the more expensive one is Winchester brass and the cheaper one isn't.
