Johnny McCrae

Deacon,
Excellent Personal overview of 1911s for WB. When I shot Wild Bunch matches back in Wisconsin, I used a Rock Island Armory 1911. Paid $450.00 for it. All I ever did to it was polish the feed ramp. It was very reliable and I was able to shoot a few clean matches with it in the Traditional category. That said, I need to mention that some of my fellow shooters would shoot some of the stages twice as fast as myself.
I made the Holster from a pattern my good friend Ten Wolves Five Shooter sent to me. I installed the checkered grips when I shot WB matches. I gave this 1911 to my grandson who is a career officer in the USMC.
You need to learn to like all the little everday things like a sip of good whiskey, a soft bed, a glass of buttermilk,  and a feisty old gentleman like myself

Major 2

I recall you doing that John, on his Graduation and Commission.
