Been without a Super 38 for a while, so ordered one of these at the LGS the other day. Looking forward to seeing it in person. Wish me luck.

Congratulations Deacon, that looks pretty cool.  I kinda have been eyeing the Tisas Regulator.

:)  Aummmmmm I should claim "long lost first cousin" status.  Think that'll help??  8)

That looks like a nice pistol. I picked up a Rock Island Armory 1911 in 38 Super a couple years ago. That's a $400 gun that shoots great. The only bad part is trying to find your expensive 38 Super brass after your done shooting! I put a pair of fancy Packmayr grips on it and used it last year in our September Zoot shoot. I paired it up with my nickel plated Colt Police Positive in .32 Smith Long.  I defiantly had a Pimp Special with those fancy silvery grips on my 38 Super and the Nickel Plated Colt! The cowboy shooters thought I was a wimp using a 38 and 32. I asked if they wanted to compare their cowboy rifles with my Tommy Gun!

Well, the chrome job showed up and was a poor looking job on the finish. It was sent back to the distributor and there is now a blued one due in sometime next week.

Get it properly nickeled and fitted with some Mexican grips.

DeaconKC

Well, the blued showed up at the shop today and looks pretty good. The plastic bag it was in had about another quart of oil in it, but this is what it looks like wiped off. Hopefully will pick it up Friday.

It does look nice; it then occurred to me I have never shot or even held a 1911 in 38 super. :-X
45acp of course, 9mm, 10mm, even 22LR conversion kits.

I keep wishing that Tisas made a traditional-styled 1911A1 in Super .38. Even better would be a nickel version. I'm very impressed with my GI style 1911A1 from Tisas and I think that one that looked like a lawman from the 1930s would carry would be very cool.  Yours looks pretty good, but I'd have to swap out the trigger and the grip safety. Hmmm, that could be tempting...

Let us know how yours shoots when you get it home!

Yup, trigger and grip safety are both slated for replacing. I might swap out to a target style hammer if I have one in the 1911 parts bin. Looking forward to picking it up.

Looks good Deacon!  A traditional trigger will make it look even better.

Griff, look for a Tisas Regulator, it may be what you seek:

You're right -- that's pretty close.  Ugh. Just when I thought that I didn't need any more guns...  ;D

2 Christmas seasons ago 2023, Rural King had Tisas 1911 A1 Gov. model
on sale IIRC $349...
I procrastinated buying one ::)

My BIL just paid $475 + Tax in March.
Buds GS has them @ $411.49 but figure in shipping FFL/LGS fee and tax. and you are up there same same.
