A few weeks ago, I went to a Car Wash. I was distracted going in by an attendant and forgot to put my car in neutral. My car jumped the track and hit a post resulting in a $4200 estimate. They say I need a new front fender and an upper & lower front bumper. Insurance says it's my fault. I'm not going to spend $4200 on a ten year old car. I'll just slap some body putty on and spray paint it myself.

Johnny-try going on Ebay and look for replacement parts there. A few years ago, the insurance company considered our 15 year old Trailblazer totaled after my wife hit a deer. We took the cash value, and used the money to get a bumper, grill d headlights off of Ebay, ordered some matching rattle cans online, and put it together myself. Doesn't look perfect, fenders are bent still a little like yours, and the front of the hood had a bit of damage, but the bug deflector covers that up. Fender metal is pretty thin on modern cars, you can probably bend that corner back close to original shape. Just be sure to look for free shipping when looking for those plastic bumper covers.

Coffee and tea are hot.

Getting ready for the IA muster this weekend. Leaving Friday morning.

'Tis 45 and sunny. High of 56, blustery and partly cloudy.

Slim

I was planning on being there when we talked about it at the Muster last fall, but they were talking about having it in May at the time. Since it was moved to April, the date doesn't work for me.

Thank you. I Never thought of that. That's a great idea. I may be able to bend the fender out but I can live with the fender the way it is. Years ago, a body shop would have repaired the fender, rather than replace it. We've become a "replacement" society.

Sunny and 60s here today. I actually went to a local train museum that I had been thinking about for the last 4 years. Great visit with the founder of the place, who turned out to be a fellow who has used this museum to help dozens of autistic kids learn to run trains and make models.

Evening all, I'll stir the coals.

Moderately eventful weekend of honey-do's, yard work, and some fun. Yesterday I took a couple coworkers out for some off the clock instruction in falling trees. Managed to pick up a little poison oak, but it's been manageable.

Today me and Mrs TK went to the 104th Red Bluff Round Up in Red Bluff, Ca, which is supposed to be one of the longest running rodeos in the state. It was a good time, albeit rather loud and crowded. Local fellow took the belt buckle in the saddle bronc category, which is always good for the local community.
