AA 5744 in the .44-40?

Not finding data, yet this powder has a very similar burn rate to IMR 4227, which is often recommended for the good old .44 WCF. Anyone have a trustworthy data source? This would be for use in an Uberti 1873, so I am not looking to hotrod it.

Have you checked accurate load data. I believe you can also find some in the Lyman manuals, and load data.com
5744 works ok in the 44 but I like bludot better

Checking out "Load Data" there isn't very much (3) for 5744 in 44-40. You might be happier with Reloader 7 or IMR4198. Currently I'm using 8 grains of Green Dot behind 240 grain WFN.

Thanks fellas. Savvy Jack has sung the praises of Re 7 in the .44 WCF, but it is a mighty scarce article in this section.
