Hello, new member here. I've had an 1860 Spencer carbine for a few years and I'm hoping someone can check the serial number for me to see if there is any info on it. It's number 27527. It has the stabler cutoff and 20 inch barrel and an 1865 rear sight so I assume it went through a rebuild.
Any info will be appreciated. Thanks.

I got a match! It was issued to Company C of 4th Kentucky Mounted Infantry in March 1865. Thanks to Two  Flints for the information and quick response!

Two Flints posted my pics for me. also I made the rookie mistake of measuring the barrel just to the
edge of the receiver to get the 20". Measuring correctly to the breech face is 22 inches, as it should be.

Thanks, ECO181:
Hope you live in KY. Smiles.

Neat, mine (26031) came back with in the possible range for Co. B of the 4th KY Mounted Infantry, also issued on the eve of Stoneman's Raid

Thanks Apriestley. I got lucky, my 27527 was an exact match. I got it from a friend when I lived in North Carolina. I often wonder how it got there. It now resides with me in East Tennessee.
