Hi everybody :)
I am looking for some 56-50 brass.
I just got a 50 cal Rolling block Navy pistol and it looks like the 56-50 will be really close to what I need.
Thanks much.
Glenn.

Hiya and welcome to the place. Check to see if the 50 is actually in 50-70, if it is you can use 348 Winchester brass, .500 Alaskan and possibly [depending on the chamber] .500 S&W brass.

Moring DeaconKC, and everybody :)
I did a chamber cast and it's a short pistol round.  From what I've read the Army pistol had a slightly longer cartridge and the Navy pistol had a cartridge shorter than an inch.
The chamber cast showed a chamber length of 1.075"
When I do my chamber casts, I try to include about 1" of rifling also to get a clear picture of the throat and lands and grooves also.
It has 3 lands and grooves that looks to be .517"
So I'm looking for a .520" bullet mold.
I cut a 50-90 cast down to fit the chamber, but the case walls that far down are like .018"(very thick)
I cut a piece of 500 Linebaugh brass down, but the smaller rim would not catch on the extractor.
I do have 50 Alaskan brass also for my 12.7x44R Swedish rolling block, but it has a smaller rim diameter also. I have not tried cutting one of those down, but I'm guessing the case walls would be very thick also.
I ordered some 32ga Magtech brass cases to try, just waiting on them to get here.
The 56-50 Starline brass is almost the perfect length, and I'm guessing the case walls would be thinner also.

Thanks
Glenn.

Here's a picture of my happy little beast  :)
The wood is a little rough, but the action is super tight and crisp.
Maybe it's not rough, just heavily experienced?
