Gentlemen,  How was the quality of the Remington produced Marlins?  Anything to watch out for?  I'm looking for an 1894 .44 Magnum for a pickup gun.

The early ones are reported to have issues. I have five Remington made Marlins. 45 Colt, 2 44 Magnums and  2 45-70. Three are CB models, one 44 and one 45-70 are SBL Models. No problems with any of them.

At best, the QC was very hit and miss.
Get the Ruger made ones.....

Thanks!  Looks like I'm looking for a non-Remington built, non Micro Groove barrel one then.

I have two of the Ruger made Marlins, 1895 Trapper and 1894 CSBL in .357. Better fit and finish than the original and the one's that came after. FWIW the rate of twist in the Ruger/Marlins in 44 mag is 1-20, original is 1-38, matters if you like heavier bullets. Good luck on your selection.

That is what Micah used to use and Sackett is currently using for GAF.
