What size Allen wrench does the socket head spring retaining screw require.  For a newer Uberti SAA.

Can't think of it but I only use it to REMOVE it. Then you toss it and there you go .  .  .  no more  problems!! They're too small anyway and I always install a larger diameter spring and "pushrod" .  .  .  that includes Rugers too.

Never saw one with a screw like that, only tiny slotted screws.  If they changed to a tiny socket screw it's probably metric.

I apologize for the question.  I was looking for a modification I had read about done by McGivern or Bob Mundon, where the back strap screw hole was drilled through and a spring and pin fitted.  45 Dragoon is right once you get it apart everything is TOO small.  Thanks for being kind.

Hi Joe.  I have one older Model P in which the left backstrap screw hole contains the hand spring and plunger.  The screw itself is hollow inside to house part of the spring.  The spring and plunger are a little larger diameter than the ones that go in the current models.  It works fine, although I've heard others say that it isn't ideal since the plunger is not centered on the back of the hand.
