I've looked for a VERY long time for a replica Sharps four barrel that was in good shape and a reasonable price. Got one finally and it works perfectly after a bit of cleaning and some oiling. Prefect for thouse across the table disputes that you don't want to pull your six gun! Now where's my deck of cards?

Howdy Kent,

Congratulations. My experience was almost like yours. I wanted a Sharps 4 holer for years. Finally got a deal on a couple of small .22 spur trigger guard revolvers with a Sharps just like yours as part of the deal. A dealer took the two revolvers off my hands for more than I paid for all three shooters, so, my Sharps was free.

For those that like looking inside here's most of the parts ready for cleaning and tiny bit of polishing. It's one my many flaws to take things apart.  ;D  The machine is more complex than a fellow might  think.

I thought I had a shot at an original.

Some wag, came into my friends FFL with this "as is" no grips ...and these other two.
He claimed he was planning to sell them.... but he left without consigning them.

Got another Sharps, this one is an original! The replica is a copy of an T1 and this is a 1c2 in 22 short as well. This one has a silver plated brass frame. I'll be making a couple of springs for it besides cleaning out a century worth of dirt. No refinish or polishing of course but it will be functional when done. I thought some maybe interested in what the inside looks like.

I've got both an original and a Navy Arms, as made buy Uberti.

The Navy - I polished off the Italian proof marks and shortened the butt so the grips would fit flush - then I sent it to Jim Downing with a xerox of the engraving style as pictured in Rattenbury's 'Packing Iron'.

Turned out nicely.

I found that I could 'stack' the rotating firing pin so that it shot the top left barrel first, and that gave me an edge for accuracy.

Nice, hard-to-find little thing - about as hard to find as it is to locate an un-screwed-with original - 'that' one, I stripped and lubed and left it alone.

As I continue to learn about these pistols I have found that the Uberti copy isn't of a 1a but is a copy of the T1 Sharps. The hammer shape and the additional screw that holds another part of the inter lock is the tell!
