I saw a posting of his over on the Winchester Collectors site.  The posting ending with him stating he was going to be out from Nov 1st '23 through Jan '24 on a hunting trip.  With sometime for the holidays.

I also miss his postings about those old rifles and loading tools of his.

Hope this helps you and hope he does return to this forum.

Hey O'l son i was getting kind of worried! Just glad you'r still with "US". ;D

I was wondering if you have (had) ever built a Rolling block ? I'v got it on my (weak) mind in 40-60 wcf (it is my favorite cal).
Took the 45-60 (thanks to you) out shooting the other day, my friend say's it is one of his favorite rifle's to shoot, 2"- 3" groups at 100yds off the bags. Anyway, good to hear from you.

Slamfire good to hear from you . No Sir I have not built a Rolling Block in 40-60 WCF. It has crossed my mind a few times , but never materialized . I did build a Rolling Block in 32 LC  that turned out to be a fun project . I re- barreled an old Swedish No. 1 action with a full octagon 1-1/8" x 35" and chambered it in 50 -70 Government . Was going to make into a plains rifle . After finishing the machine work I lost interest and have yet to stock it .  Have not been shooting any 76 guns for a while . Do a little shooting with an old heavy German muzzleloader target rifle every once in a while and that's about it . Good to hear from you my friend and hope yall are doing well ,,,DT

DT, if a #1RB is strong enough for a 50-70 it should be plenty strong enough to handle a 40-60. Been look'n and reading a lot on the RB's, just not interested in large bore's. But i shoot smokeless loads.

More rain today,,,,,,= more coffee, ta da!!! ;D
