How many of you shoot under several names with completely diferant personas? I was thinkin why couldnt I be a drover one day and a dentist the next? A lawdog on sat and a wanted man on sun? Is there anything that keeps you from doing that? Maybe I should have titled this "How many of your Alter Egos Have Alter Egos?" JUST wantin To Know. DR.
Now to answer yer question, I have only had a cowboy persona so far. But I intend to work on some other personas such as a sodbuster, ciivilian scout, buffalo runner, etc. I will use the same alias.

McGavin

Since I've developed my alias with a pretty complete back story, I can take an alter-ego from any of the periods in his life. Soldier -- Confederate Cavalry; scout -- US Cav in the Southwest; Lawman, still in the Southwest, New Mexico Territory; and, at the end of his life, a senior police officer in a larger Western City, San Francisco. I'm still working on the details and assembling the gear and get-ups, not to mention the guns.

If I show up as Tom McGavin, sergeant in the 10th Louisiana Cavalry, I'd be using 1860 Colts, a Henry and a hammered double, for instance. As Scout McGavin, I'd either throw conversion cylinders in  my 1860s or go to a pair of Colt Open Tops. I'd probably still use the Henry and the hammered double. As a lawman, I'd use the Open Tops, move up to a '73 Winchester and a hammerless double. In my last stand before retiring, it would be a pair of Thunderers, the '73 and a '97 pump. There might be some other guns for side matches, appropriate to the character and time period. That might include a long Spencer in .56-50 or a Sharps; a '49 Colt Pocket or Wells Fargo with a conversion cylinder; a cut-down '62 Pocket Navy or Police also with a conversion cylinder; and perhaps a derringer of some sort.

This game of ours is just an excuse to amass a bunch of neat guns and gear to allow us to play cowboys, just like we did when we were eight years old.

Since my persona is that of a detective I often go in "disguise".. I can be a old cowboy, banker, mine owner, bank robber, what ever.  At the NCOWS convention last year I changed outfits every couple of hours on Saturday and didn't get recognized by some of my good pards.  It was fun but too much work.
