Well it was sunny today.  So I put a piece of leather outside to tan another day (5 days) to darken it to match the rest of the belt.  It is the belt liner.  Rain was due after 4, I went out at 3:00 to bring it in.  Yup, I'm in Pittsburgh so...Any way to get rid if the stains?  Several over full length.

The only thing I can think of is to wet the whole thing and see if it evens those spots out. Maybe one of the other forum members will have a suggestion.

I take it you were suntanning for a closer match to the belt?
You are not planning to further dye the piece?

If that is the case, I believe Skidmores' leather conditioner might be your trick to
blended leather
Coat the piece and set it on the dash of your car to suntan dry.

Major2, correct, I am not dyeing it. Customer wants it natural color.  This leather was a shade lighter than the belt leather so I put it out for another day, big mistake!

I had some blotchy leather that had water spilled on it.
It was chosen because,
I wanted to make a WW1 French Ruby holster, that would be ok if it appeared aged some.
It cleaned up the blotchy stains anyway.

here is the finished holster with only Skidmores' and set in the sun (under car window glass)

How did you fit that French guy on the dash?

Looks good. I'll remember that Skidmore's will help those water marks.

;D ;D ;D

I was thinking you must have put him in the rear window, not on the dash, because he looks like he's facing the enemy.  Assuming it's a French car.
