Howdy, I was recently lucky(?) nuff to add a Uberti made clone of the 1873 Musket to my collection. I have looked all over but cannot find a date code on it. It is marked Dixie Gun Works but not received much from them bout possible dates. Does anyone remember when these were sold?  I also have an 1866 Musket and date code on it is 2000. Was lucky nuff to get a bayonet with the '66. and it will fit the '73 but would like to find a second one. Thanks Zeb

I have both of the Uberti made Infantry Rifles (as Oliver Winchester marketed what we call muskets). My !866 is marked CU (2019). I special ordered two of them through Cimarron. They placed my order with Uberti, and their response was they had just enough of the parts for two, and would not be making more. So my best friend Johnson Barr and I have them. My 1873 was a GunBroker find at a crazy low price. I guess they are not popular. It is marked BN (2000). I do not know how many years Uberti produced them.

Thanks much for the information. You are correct in that they do not seem to be overly popular. They sure shoot well tho. Zeb
