Sadly Warren is getting some rest.    One of my all time favorites.

One of purs as well ( me and SWMBO )
His last appearance on Letterman was noteworthy.

Musically, I seem to dwell under a rock.
Sure, I've heard the songs, and perhaps an artist(s) and even like the piece but did not associate the two or even have it register.  ???
Course if it were the Beatles, or 'Stones, Bee Gee's, Clapton, or Dire Straits etal I knew of them.
throw in some ELO and Eagles, Animals, Turtles, Who, and Nitty Gritty Dirt...

These were some of my favorites, maybe above all the Brothers GiBB.
Now they are all but gone, only Barry remains and of the others many are in the Righteous Brothers "Hell of Band"

But I had look up Warren Zevon, Werewolves of London? I seem to recall the group name.

Evening all.

Rainy and cool today out here.

I spent today being a gopher for my mother, as she had carpel tunnel surgery yesterday and can't use one hand. Mostly, that entailed scooping ice cream and telling the TV to play the next episode of "Survivorman: Bigfoot."

I did pull out my befuddling 1858 revolver today. Before I went to Montana it had started having issues with timing. The cylinder turns and locks up correctly but the hammer won't hold at full cock. The confusion comes from it being normally with the cylinder removed. I've suspected it was the hand, but never got around to taking a more thorough look. Pulled it out tonight and what do you know, the hand has a bit of peening on the nose. I suspect that may be part of it.

Good to see you Roo.

Warren was his own self.
Werewolves of London is crazy fun

"I saw a werewolf drinkin' a piña colada at Trader Vic's
His hair was perfect"

Then there is his pretty sick ones like "excitable boy"

and "roland the headless thomson gunner" ( yup really about a merc with a thompson )
and "send lawyers guns and money"
and "send in the envoy"
and more ....

but then we also like Don Henley - "All She Wants To Do Is Dance"

"Molotov cocktail, the local drink
And all she wants to do is dance, dance
They mix 'em up right
In the kitchen sink
And all she wants to do is dance"

yup we are wacky

oh and the weather is now mild and sunny....

prf who is going crazy thru boxes

Don't forget Robert Earl Keene

We made Oklahoma a little after 3
Randy, his brother Bob and my old GMC
We had some moonshine whisky
And some of Bob's homegrown
We were so messed up we didn't know
If we were drunk or stoned
Randy was a sad-sack, tall kinda frail
Bob was a raving maniac, crazy in the head
They been kicked out of high school several years ago
For pushin over port-a-cans at the 4-H rodeo
Since then they've done their little dance
Right outside the law
Popped twice in Oklahoma, once in Arkansas
And I don't know what possessed me
To want to tag along
Cause I was raised a Christian
And I knew right from wrong

Right or wrong, black or white
Cross the line, you're gonna pay
In the dawn before the light
Live and die by the shades of gray

We stole two Charolais heifers from
Randy's sweetheart's paw
Sold them at the livestock sale
Outside of Wichita

We got $900 and never did suspect
The world of hurt we'd be in once
We cashed that check
Next day we heard the story
On the local radio
Made our plans that very night
To go to Mexico
I swear we would have made it
If it wasn't for that shine
I got sick about the time we crossed
That Kansas line

Right or wrong, black or white
Cross the line, you're gonna pay
In the dawn before the light
Live and die by the shades of gray

I was layin in the bar ditch
Prayin I would die
When a light come on above us
And a voice come from the sky
A half a dozen unmarked cars
Came screeching to a halt
They grabbed bob, he started screamin
It was all my fault

There were men and dogs
And helicopter buzzin all around
They had the brothers on the
Pickup hood and me down on the ground
Bob flew all to pieces but randy he
Held tight when a black man in a
Suit and tie stepped out into the light
He told his men to turn us loose
They put down their guns
He said these are just some
Sorry kids, they ain't the ones

Right or wrong, black or white
Cross the line, you're gonna pay
In the dawn before the light
Live and die by the shades of gray

They left us by the roadside
Down hearted and alone
Randy got behind the wheel
Said boys I'm going home
We turned around to face our fate
Downhearted but alive on that
Mornin in late April, Oklahoma, 1995

Right or wrong, black or white
Cross the line, you're gonna pay
In the dawn before the light
Live and die by the shades of gray

Morning y'all.
Coffee and tea are ready.

Went to Good Friday service, last night.

Have to go into verk for a couple hours this morning.

'Tis 30 and overcast. "Cloudy with a slight chance of light rain and snow in the morning  then partly sunny in the afternoon. Highs in the middle 50s. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation 20 percent."

Survivorman ?  Is Les Stroud still producing any of those?
I seem to remember he drop off the radar, the rigors of his survival trek's were taking its toll?

Good to hear from you Roo. :)

Got by with 8 last night and got up even if I didn't have to .

Rita is doing fine with here first treatment.  Minor upset stomach.  Second one in 2 weeks from Tuesday, then wait two weeks and do an MRI, if it has shrunk we keep on this one, if not then the chemo/radiation and go from there.

He had moved into into the sphere of being a "producer" for a number of years. physical/family issues pushed him that way. I believe he was also a consultant for several shows as well. His new show is about searching for Sasquatch, but without all the TV drama. My mom enjoys it, and as both mom and gimp, it was her call.
