I have a Shiloh 1863 Sharps rifle and would like to request that a Pedersoli owner to look at the slide (breech block) under the nipple. Mine has a hole that is about as small as the exit hole of the nipple. Here's mine to show what I'm wanting to learn. This my second Shiloh 63 and this one as well as the first one has given very good service.

My Dear Kent

Sorry for the thread zombie action....

I cannot attest to the Shiloh Sharps percussion block, but my cheap IAB has an almost identical diameter
Hole.

I would like to suggest that you ask at the Civil War re-enactors forums

Thanks Prf, I still haven't seen a Pedersoli but did buy an original 1863 carbine so looked at it and found it to be the same as the Shiloh. I'm very pleased with the sure fire nature of both guns and have yet to have any need to modify either.

Don't alter or enlarge the hole, don't ask how I know.

I had a Garrett Arms carbine, it was the best replica Sharps as to authenticity.
I also had Sile Percussion and a Pedersoli cartridge in 45/70
I also owned two originals both 63's.

So, I never messed with mine, but my good friend who had a Sile, relieved his block.
It was blunder, and I made a insert washer to put under the nipple to reduce the fire hold to the original size.
