Morning all.

15 (above zero again) and a little bit of frost on the windshield.

TK The Elder arrived last night for Thanksgiving. So now we have 4 people in the tiny apartment. Who needs elbow room.  ::)

Y'all keep warm.

BTW, working on a Remington 742 for a buddy. Derusting and cleaning.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a gunsafe dehumidifier?

The GoldenRods work very well if he has an outlet inside the safe.Otherwise any of the desiccant containers will do the job.

10:15 am appointment on Monday with the surgeon if the anti-nausea meds and the pain meds last/work till then.  Going to be close on the pain meds.  The Feds decided that they need to ease up on restrictions on pain meds because they are driving the cornicly ill people to the street and less safe alternatives.  Did this about 3 weeks ago, was in the news but we are still using the old guidelines because they ain't sent them to Drs and Pharmacists and because I got a refill Monday and Drs office is closed till Monday and today was too soon if I run out I have no choice but go to the ER.  Did the same shit in 2005 over the long Christmas weekend.   As is most the weekend will be spent with my legs on pillows laying down reading.   Just us two tomorrow, going to do stuffed mushrooms and graze, Sat is the nieces and want to make that one, missed the last two family get togethers.  Should actually be real good again after this, get rid of the anti-biotic pump next week.

30 shopping days till Christmas...anyone else think this year has rocketed by  ???

The amazing thing for me it's been just short of 3 years  :o since Covid was the cause for me to retire.
Plan was for me to retire in March of '23'. @ 75.
Course, I'm quite content to be out of that pressure pot !
and working part time as a curator at the Military Museum.  :)

The job is quite rewarding, fun and no pressure.

Been retire almost 4 years, 3 years this mess started.  Glad I did it at 62, being able to update to SSD means the money is the same and retiring likely saved my life.

Morning y'all.
Coffee and tea are hot.

Two children went to Appleton for Black Friday.

Put the first coat of boiled linseed oil on the Rem 742 stock. Looks a lot better than it did before. Most of the lacquer finish had peeled off the butt stock.

'Tis 32 and sunny. High of 45 and sunny.

Like you, I had done some work on an old Shotgun for a friend.
I my case a Stevens Model 59A Bolt Action Shotgun.

The Stock was cracked and had been repaired by a BUBBA , there was fitment issues.
The action was moving back under recoil and would jam the bolt when you tried to re-cock to feed for the next round.
Somewhere, the fellow acquired a replacement stock, that I fitted & finished for him...
Repaired the Safety slide spring and fixed the trigger pivot pin....
Stevens Model 59A's were inexpensive back in the day and aren't valuable or collectable today.
He had taken it to a Gunsmith and was told it was not worth fixing...calling it junk!
BUT to the guy it had a sentimental value, and for him something he wanted to shoot...
it wasn't junk to him....
So, I agreed to look at it, and I was able to repair it.... being retired I had the time and enjoyed the project.
He wanted to pay me; I said naught!... but he insisted and stuck $60 in my shirt pocket.

Happy hunting, presently 69° and high for today 78° no rain expected.

Coffee is on, and I'm headed into the Museum in a couple of hours.
Just me today, no docent or volunteers are scheduled, holiday's and/or travel is the culprit.

Greetings all.

Warm one in Missoula today, relatively speaking- 31 and only somewhat snowing.  ::)

Spent most of the day out hunting. We saw a single buck right over the fence from the public land we were on. Had to settle for a beef steak and chicken eggs from a local diner to go with the tag soup.

Good morning and God bless on this Sunday Morning. 56 here right now, drizzly, supposed to hit 59 today. Ready for Church, teaching on Elijah in Sunday School today. Got my new compressor yesterday, went to the Hobby Shop and bought a little N scale caboose for the railroad. Remember the Chessie System? Oh well, y'all be good, praying for you all, especially Del.

I have an idea for a D-Day Exhibit, for May-June-July, 2023

This a partial scale mockup, the mannequins will be 3d not cutouts as depicted here.

The map will 8' X 12'
