Good to hear from you "Iannites" stay safe. A friend of mine from Church is one of the power workers down there waiting to kick in.
If nothing else Roger, you could have camped out in the tank you guys have in front of the museum. It sure wouldn't blow away!

Ha ha , actually the TANK is no more, it was a plywood mock-up made for the Disney produced " Thunder in Paradice "   the Hulk Hogan, Chris Lemmon, TV-Drama in the early 90's.
I pushed to get it gone for several months, that prop was nearly 30 years old and falling into some disrepair.
I finally got it dumpster sized last week  ;) ;)

I'm hoping to get a Blackhawk, but for now our Duce & a Half will occupy the space.

That same named Cajun Navy (different personal) flows the other way, out of Florida. FP&L, Duke Energy,
OUC and KUC all head out when the ground zero is the Gulf coast, Texas or N & S Carolina.

Here is the unusual occurrence with this storm, it's cool - 71 degrees headed to 64 degrees overnight.
normally it would HOT HIMID and miserable !
This has been a perfect storm #4 on the all-time recorded list...
It was just a few MPH below CAT 5 when it hit the west coast. Strong CAT 4, Flooding is 100 years style.

Gusts have abated here, rain has tapered off, we are OK did not lose power , all in all WE were very fortunate

The sun has started to shine. Just had a fried SPAM sandwich. Probably my first one in 50 years? Don't know what I was missing.
You need to learn to like all the little everday things like a sip of good whiskey, a soft bed, a glass of buttermilk,  and a feisty old gentleman like myself

A Spamwitch ?  still drizzling, some moderate wind with minor gusts & 69 degrees  :o

Yah, more salt than you should have even their low sodium more salt than my bully beef.  I had one the other night and used the last of the good bread, try to make one tomorrow or the next.   Nothing left but sliced bread and who ever come up with that greatest thing since must have had never had good bread.  (The actually promoted it that way because it was responsible for much increased bread sales because a lot of people will make a sandwich if they don't have to slice it.  Actually almost doubled bread sales.)

Went to the heart Dr, she oked the back surgery so it's a go, also  oked the adventure next Tuesday, she said just don't over due it, she said I need a day before winter sets in.

Del, you are right about the sodium. BP was up a bit this morning.

63‎° and Clear headed to 81‎° for the high, winds about 10mph out of the NW.

Devastation statewide, damage will be in the BILLIONS, some Insurance providers will fail and go under I'm thinking.
Sadly, many will be left with heart ache and financial loss  :( . I'm afraid the loss of life will be higher.

By the grace of the Lord, I was spared any real damage, a few branches down and standing water in the pastures, leaf debris in the pool is all.
Roads are flooded in areas and the lakes around me are over their normal banks 3-4 feet.
The Museum lost power and remains dark otherwise no damage seen, however a community nearby is flooded by 3 feet.

Please continue to host best wishes & prayers for those less fortunate who have lost, and those up in South Carolina who may still be in harm's way

That is my main objective to it, I do fine with the sodium levels and could eat some, but I've never liked anything that salty and since I try even harder to stay away I like it even less.

Tell everyone Hi for me, too soon to know but this surgery on the 18th may be just the thing to get me back going.  Everything has fell in place for Tuesday with the homeschool group at RCS.  Gopher Grease will get me sometime Monday after Dr appointment and load the needed gear, I will spend the night at his place and head over in the morning.  RCS is closed for the season but Jeff will unlock the gate that morning for us.  Wymore Wrangler is sponsoring it aka buy all the food.  Then when we are done Gopher Grease will bring me home.  Dr said they will propally cut my loose from my pump on Monday and back on Wedsday till after the surgery.  Could have had it done on the 4th but passed and took the next date.  Every one of the Drs involved have signed of on doing the surgery and all agree if I want to delay it 2 weeks that's fine, it's me that has to put up with it 2 weeks longer, all also agreed I do need something before winter sets in.  Been 13 months since I went out and this one will be me making dough things like biscuits and cobbler for Matt to actually cook, all agree including me even if I haven't fell since January it might be best to stay away from the fire itself.  Will do most the explaining and question answering.  Went up another 10 lbs with this mess but still down 30 since January. Will have to be happy wearing my bibs, my palm leaf for the sun and my tennis shoes, will be the only the second time in my life to wear a hat with tennis shoes.  But not a lot of choice, will cover up as much as possible and avoid the sun, antibiotics and being in the sun is bad.

Hey Roger, is the Deuce and a Half your commuter? Very nice, especially in high water. Stay safe all.

Naugh! a little tough on fuel mileage  ::)  :)

Decided to get a Pizza tonight, its only 2 miles to the pizza joint, that short ride revealed very little to "0" damage in my area.
In fact, there is less water in the ditches than in a normal summer frog drowning thunderstorm.

We were very blessed, and I don't take that lightly!

We've been hammered all day. Saw one single car wreck on the way to neck therapy this morning. You can't speed in heavy rain without hydroplaning.

Getting ready for an outdoor wedding this evening, supposed to be sunshine but a little on the cool side tonight. Anyway, a wonderfully sweet couple [my niece's step-daughter] and they have become part of our family too. Glad you are all safe so far, so sorry to hear about the damage.

Going to spend most the day writing at my desk, got some ribs to slow cook, to lazy to start the smoker, don't have one of those Suzy Homemaker grills so just slow cook in cast iron.  BTW if ypu have one of those grills that use those wooden feed pellets that's fine, like many things, 90% of the users give the others a bad name. ;D
