The Trinity Kid

Afternoon all.

Trip to 4 sporting goods stores turned up a pound of Titegroup and H110, a box of 100 158gr XTP bullets, a Lyman 50th edition manual, and a box of American Eagle 357 "ready made" ammo. Also a squeaky hedgehog and smoked pig ear for the dog. Primers we're the hardest to find, and when I did find them were quite expensive at $86/1000, limit one box.

Now it's off to try and coax a trout into biting.

Howdy folks. Busy day yesterday, did find a real nice new to me gunshop. Sadly, I think it will be a loooong time before prices on primers drop much more. Missions Conference at our Church this weekend, makes me feel old when one of our speakers I have known long enough that he was newly married when we first met, and now he is expecting his first grandchild! Any hoo, you all have a good weekend!

Afternoon all.

Sunny and 65 today in the Clark Fork drainage.

I spent some quality time at the range today, shooting the W(v)indicator. I put about 150 rounds of assorted ammo through it and learned that it leaves much to be desired in the accuracy department at 25 yards. My best group from a rest was 4" with handloaded 148gr cast wadcutters over 3.8g of W231 (that load was a total pussycat in the recoil department. Probably my new favorite). The rest averaged about 8-10". The snobby barrel didn't help.

Also had a factory 357 cartridge jump the crimp while I was shooting. It was a relatively mild 158gr FMJ from Armscor (which is made here in Stevensville). Bound the cylinder up, but I was able to break it loose without a hammer.

Did get a problem 66 Yellowboy functioning for a friend [I will NEVER shake hands with whoever tightens Uberti's screws at the factory] Man, that poor lil rifle was filthy! Anyway, I was still able to get most of my stuff ready for loading tomorrow for Comin at Cha. Slim, keep em all in line, will ya?

Morning all.

Partly cloudy and 55 this morning in Missoula, supposed to be headed for 65.

On the agenda for today, I have to run the horse trailer down to Lolo for some work (I've already reworked the darn thing twice myself. Time to let someone else try), then down to Victor to pick up Mrs. TKs saddle from the repair guy. Then I have some fishing and possibly some reloading planned. Might cook up some warm 38+P/light 357 loads since I have some magnum brass now.

In other news, Mrs. TK and I have both applied to some new jobs in warmer climes. "She who must be obeyed" applied with Uncle Sam's Forest Service, while I put in an application with Knife River Inc. as a cement truck driver in the same town. We'll see how this pans out.

My wife and I received the third Covid booster shot this past Monday. She tested positive on Tuesday. I tested positive this morning. So far, the effects are relatively mild, sort of like a head cold. From what I've read getting a Booster shot is not supposed to make you test positive. We live in a 55+ community and received the shots at our theater. We were one of the few wearing masks?

Johnny,
what with the incubation period you both must have been exposed before the third booster on Monday?

On August 28th we had contact with a person who tested positive on September 2nd. We isolated until September 8th. We both tested negative thru the isolation period. Maybe that was it.
