I'll validate it since it's September first over here. You're welcome. ::)

Greetings all from the Mediterranean. I am officially no longer pinned in the Horn of Africa. We left at midnight and are at our first layover at a quaint island in the Aegean Sea. I'll be home in the middle of next week.

Y'all keep safe over there.

Forgot a couple end-of-summer events coming up.  Both are the same weekend, 9/9 thru 9/11.  They are the Camel/Ostrich races in Virginia City and the Great Reno Balloon Races here in town.

I think t's time to visit the Bucket of Blood Saloon where the camels have been known to stop in for a Bloody Mary after a hard day of racing in the 100+ temps.

DeaconKC, what scale and which era?

I used to game 15mm ACW, but sold off the collection and have now reduced  down to 6mm Late Roman with emphasis on Anglo-Saxon/Viking conflicts or WWII North Africa. Space for storage considerations, etc.

Recently started painting and basing 3mm Fantasy for LOTR.

Odd that as I've gotten older I've decided to self-torture by challenging my aging eyesight and eye-hand coordination. BUT, I figure do the painting now before I can't do it at all.

Up, off to get a new bag of antibiotics, since it's Friday it's 50% bigger, most likely will have to change the batteries before Monday, at least the wife and Riley can hear the low batteries alarm, I have to watch for the red flashing light, add almost deaf to my many faults.   Gotten grumpy about it also, the term selective hearing will get you a pissed off lecture, Step Daughter learned that a couple of years ago trying to talk to me running water in the kitchen, her in living room with dining room in between, not only me but her Uncle, she left in a huff, slammed the door and her mom opened it and told her as she was leaving not to slam our door or stay away.  The beveled glass French doors would cost more to fix than she has.  Her stock isn't worth much in our house.

I guess I woke up grumpy this morning, not tired enough to give up yet, tired of this picc line, tired of the congestion that may be something more again, tired of Benadryl and pain meds, tired of not getting to go outside and play.  Early last week I passed the 3 year mark, was funny in a way, it started the day we got Riley that's the day after the hip went out and by the time I was done with PT a month later I could not breath. ::)

Have got some stuff done, any of you on FB have a look at this and feel free to share any of it, that's what it is for.  Every couple months I bump the threads around so they fall in where they should, till then the new stuff stays at the top.    https://www.facebook.com/groups/606494777062616

My daughter that her and her husband work in IT says it's one of the best red neck tech ideas she's ever seen.  A public group that can be shared out of but only I can post.   I'm not going to lie, since I hate TV and such I spend a lot of time helping others learn to dutch oven cook.  Have even posted answers from ICU.   This knowledge is not going to die with me.  I've made arrangements for same daughter to copy all information on a flash drive for any who want it.  Also by spring I'm planning on having a basic dutch oven book available on download with hoping I make enough to print.  I have never really liked any of them I have looked at, they all try to make it like a mystery, the TV dutch oven guy is just as bad.  There is a big myth many believe in and myself and many of my friends are creating a big stir about it.    The big reference book is not ready yet but if it don't get done all the information is going to be on flash drive, just not polished.

Greetings from Iceland all.

Making a quick layover here. I've always wanted to visit this place, and here I am getting paid to be here. Could be worse. I am freezing my tail off and it's only 45 degrees, which doesn't bode well for the coming winter in Montana.

Awoke to a 2 square mile power grid outage,
I had noted in my foggy first stirring to the latrine, the ceiling fan was off.
Otherwise, somehow though it did not register in my cerebral cortex as I dosed off again.
Anyway, its back on (7:50 AM) and no idea how long it was out ???

Long winded version of " Power was out "  ::)

I have no clue as to what to do today ???  it's a blank canvas  :-\

The prodigal son returns. Sort of ish. I'm stateside anyway. And I'm not sure prodigal is the best word for the context, but y'all get the drift.

Landed in New Hampshire. Here for night and on back home.  It's good to be stateside though. I can at least read the traffic signs.  ::)
