Except the rifle really isn't an "original" any more.  In automotive parlance it would be called a "restomod."  With a New barrel, New Links, Home Brew Firing Pin, and a polished up receiver, been some modded.  It's still real neat, but not original any more.

Exactly, really way cool. Well should have been. Maybe it was some great guys all just having a bad day but I have to really question the thoughts of the expert they had make their ammo and then the people shooting the gun that ruined the barrel to begin with. Why would you use Trail Boss and not real black for a gun like that? Wound up with a squib and they didn't catch it and ruined the barrel. I mean you don't notice a squib when carefully shooting an antique like that? The whole deal seams like it was a cluster from the start. In the end I have to compliment them on doing a great job of repairing a gun that was otherwise mutilated.

When I heard Trail Boss in an original 66 I thought you have to be kidding ! Was glad that Mark could repair the old gun , while not all original , most of it is . A Cool old carbine  and video non the less . The video did make me take out my little 1873 44 and pop a few off  ,,,,DT

Did you chamber the new barrel to the original Henry dimensions?  I would like to shoot my original 66 with a modified or newly made bolt but original chamber.  I do not have and can't see my finding original ammo, so am seeking a useable cartridge to reload.  i can't come up with a modern round that will chamber in this gun.  I could turn off rims and shorten to any length, but the base diameter of all rounds I can imagine are at least .010 oversize.  I can't see doing anything that would swage the web area and reduce the diameter.  Any ideas would be great

I should have made it clear that I was just passing on a video that I found on YouTube. I don't know if anyone else here has done this kind of work.
