ICHETUCKNEE

Hi everyone.  It has been a very long while since I've been on the Cas City forum.  I have a Spencer carbine with the serial number 27239 and would like to know anything I can about this carbine.  Thank you for your help!

Hello:
Your screen name is interesting because I can  throw a rock from my house to that named place.  Are you located near it, please?

Hello El Supremo,

I grew up in Gainesville.  I used to go tubing down that river.  I live near Lake Tahoe now.

Ichetucknee,

Very good chance your Spencer Carbine, serial #27239 was issued to Company C, 4th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry in March, 1865.  Quite a few serial #s in your serial # range were issued to the same unit, closest being #27,240 :o

Hope this helps.
