Good to hear about Del, thanks.

Is that "caught up" or coughed up"?

Either or I suppose... :) both sums up ...cough'n' is still somewhat present  :(

spelling was not my strongest subject  :-\

Good afternoon to y'all. 70 here right now and raining. A bit of a late night last night as I found out that our former Church [pre-move to AR] had their Youth Group at a Christian Camp near here this week. So I went to see them and didn't leave til Midnight. Great seeing some dear friends who I served with dor many years, and got mobbed by the young guys who I had watched grow up in our church! Crud! 2 of em are taller than I am and I'm 6'3"! Anyhoo, hope everyone here has a good day and hoping to get to see Delmonico back on soon.

Congrats on the reunion.

It's 80° now after a quick frog drowning rainstorm.
I decided a nap was in order and snoozed through most of it.
Working the Museum tomorrow, more rain is forecasted so it may be slow  :-\

I spoke with Del this evening, He said, "he had a very good day" and has Dr. appointment
on Wednesday, and if all goes well, he might get out of rehab by this weekend (a few days early)  :)
He been able to login on his Facebook Dutch oven page, but the WIFI is blocked for Cas City apparently.

I'm headed to the frendly LGS to pick up a project in the morning, for one of their customers.
I'll post more about it tomorrow with photos.

I'll post more about it tomorrow with photos.

You all might recall, some weeks ago I was asked by my friendly LGS, to look and appraise 3 guns the previous owner/ consigner had rattled caned painted black.
There was the Ruby, a WALTHER P38 with post war AC44 Holster and 2 mags, and a Model 1 1/2 S&W top break in 32 cal.
All three had been painted in semi-Gloss black,
I estimated the P38 would bring about $500 , the Ruby maybe ? ( well I took a chance for $100 )
and it turned out a small gem in the rough....about 70% original finish and functions fine..
Once I removed the offending Krylon paint job...
The poor Smith I fear is a train wreak .

I was asked by the new owner of the P38 ( yes it sold for $500) if I would restore  the P38
I agreed to do so for $35 (he gave me $50 for about 45 minutes work  :) )

So here is P38, sadly the original finish had been stripped before the rattle can job  ::)
It is a good shooter grade, matching #s and waffen marks... but in its less the 10% original  finish
sill worth the $500 I guess...

Major 2

Yeah, the P38 did not look all that bad in paint, at lease in my photo...trust me it was lame !!!

as a reminder, here is the Before and After of the LLama Ruby
( note the grip was upside down )

and the poor S&W   :(
