A day Americans unite to thank and honor Vietnam veterans
and their families for their service and sacrifice.

March 29, 2022 is the 5th anniversary of National Vietnam War Veterans Day, which was signed into law by President Donald J. Trump in 2017, designating every March 29 as National Vietnam War Veterans Day, marking the date in 1973 when the last U.S. combat troops departed the Republic of Vietnam. More than 2.7 million Americans served in the Vietnam War, and it was the second-longest war in American history, lasting almost 20 years. The U.S. casualty rate was more than 58,220. As these brave young men and women returned to the U.S., they received hostile treatment and barely spoke of their service. Brave Veterans remaining silent about their experiences created complications regarding health issues such as post-traumatic stress and complications from Agent Orange. Today, Americans will unite to thank and honor Vietnam veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice.
