Howdy! I'm asking this question here because NCOWS allows Self-Cockers or double action revolvers that are made before 1900. I'm looking at a Colt model 89' which is Colt's first revolver with a swing out cylinder. Whats the going price on one, in good working order and a good bore, but not much finish left, in .41 cal. Just interested in knowing.......Thanks!......WBR

Yep! Ammo could be hard to come by and/or load for, be'in it's in 41 colt & thats with heel bullets too! He wants $300.00 for it, I was offering $275.00. It was a no deal for now. It was just an interesting peace, still might end up buy'in it. Thanks!.........WBR

If you are intersted in the 41Colt, brass can be bought from Starline for about $45 - $60/100 (just don't remember exact price).  I priced it myself last year.

The bullet molds can be found on ebay sometimes but they can be pricey also ~$80 - 90

Howdy! Again, Its up in the air weather or not I want the darn thing & even if I do buy it, I don't thing I would shoot it much. I know I wouldn't shoot it in a match, that I'm certain of, unless the barrel is short enough to be classified as a pocket pistol. I haven't measured the barrel but it may be 4in. but, I don't think it's less than that. If I were reloading for it, I would probably have to use hollow-base bullets(Don't like heel bullets) & black-powder to expand the skirt to make it hit anything. I do have some load data from the book by Mike Venturino, "Shooting Colt Single Action" & its good to know where to get the brass. Untill I make a decision, thanks for the info........WBR
