Hi, a friend of mine has a holster for a 1916 Luger that has seen better days.  The front of the holster is in better shape that the backside.  The back side doesn't appear to be rotting though.  I have several leather conditions including Renaissance Wax, Skidmore's, and Fiebing's Aussie Leather Conditioner.  I've used Skidmore's and the Aussie conditioner on new leather and the Renaissance Wax on various metal objects.  What can we put on the holster that will help the leather and not ruin the value of the holster?  I didn't think that my OTHER post went out.  This includes the pictures.

By the way, everyone said I should use the Skidmore's on the 108 year old (at least) holster.  Oddly, in Oklahoma City, with the famous stockyards etc, a Tandy leather store, a local leather store and multiple saddle shops, NO ONE SELLS Skidmore's here.

Thanks

.
Tandy is not I far as I have seen an outlet, perhaps because they carry their own branded products
Skidmore's is a private family owned and run company.
Though, they have dealer network and is available on Amazone or directly from their own mail order dept.
I've been using it many years,
John Saffran sent me a sample jar 17-18 years ago. I had not seen it stocked anywhere locally prior.
I swear by it and use it on wood as well as leather.

when planets align...do the deal !

As I remember, it was back in 2007 when my good friend, Ten Wolves Fiveshooter put me on to Skidmores.

The Major is correct. Skimores works beautifully on wood, especially gun stocks that have the varnish removed.
