I got to examine one of these the other day and was very pleasantly suprised of its quality. I'd seen them online before but never in person. Fit an finish were superb and cocking the hammer put a big smile on my face. It really does have wolf springs in it, and a rock solid lockup with light smooth springs just does it for me with sixguns. The German silver grip frame looked and felt nicer than I thought it would also, and it is a steel frame underneath not brass. The gun had Colt style hard rubber grips and CC finish and is now on my to buy list after I get a couple more sixguns I've been putting off for awhile. Just thought I'd share.

Galloway, they also make the Gunfighter in all stainless steel. It's not a bad price at all for a tuned up gun for either the Blue or the stainless.

Ooh thats right I forgot about that. I already had my story planned out: I had shot the gun out of an outlaws hand and swapped the grip frame out with a nickel plated Colt I had blown up making handloads out of BP and petrollium. Thats why it has a silver grip frame! ;D

Well I had been looking at navy arms gunfighter finially ordered one sight unseen . Went through the marshal here. he did a great job. Around here they just want to sell cimmarron or whatever is on the shelf.
Back to the pistol . As you said fit and finish lock up and timing are very very nice. I like wood grips but the factory grip just seems to stick to my hand i  I will keep them . Only had it to the range once but sighted in and was as accurate as needed to be . Feels a little lighter than a brass frame uberti I have.  What do I like most about it ??  They are different .and  you wont see many.                                                                        Thank you Gentlemen     Sweettooth

Are those Uberti or Pietta made?...... 8) :-\
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....

Cimarron, Navy Arms and most EMFs are all made or assembled from Uberti parts. So far, Cimarron SAAs are the best looking and shooting out of the box, but then again, the Navy Arms Gunfighter is a slick rig that I have yet to hear a complaint about.

on the ejector side of the barrel  where the barrel meets the frame are what looks like 3 small crests , cant make them out even with magnifiying glass and  PSF I can make out what does the PSF mean ? the only other markings I have found say navy arms . It is a sweet piece in any event .

I just went to their site and checked out the "Gunfighter," These are nice looking pistols. I have never seen one and liked what I saw. I do have a question. If Uberti makes most of the parts for 1873 SAA's what do these other companies do when they get their Uberti parts. That is, how do they improve them or make them better? Thx.

Sweettooth:

Howdy....not sure what the PSF means, but the three little crests may be proof marks.

The following info is an edited version of the text on the Navy Arms website:

The Gunfighter series is from Navy Arms ( http://www.navyarms.com/html/sa_rev_of_west.html )

All Navy Arms Gunfighter revolvers have had the original factory (Uberti) springs removed and replaced with American-made Wolff™ springs.

German silver-plated backstrap and trigger guard: Rather than a standard blue finish, Navy Arms Gunfighter revolvers have a distinct backstrap and trigger guard that make it instantly recognizable.

Navy Arms has replaced the smooth wood grips with impact resistant black checkered grips favored by 19th century gunfighters. The checkering on the grips provides a better grip when drawing, firing and re-holstering.

Available in 4 3/4", 5 1/2" or 7 1/2" barrel lengths. Cal.: .357, .45 Colt and .44-40

blue drifter, according to their web site they don't make it in 38 Spcl, but they do make it in 357 Mag in which you could shoot 38 Spcl. If you go through Marshal Halloway he may be able to get you a good deal on two. They are real nice looking guns.

thanks for the come-back,do they make .38 spcl in cowboy lead, so she can make use of it t A match ??? ???

Big John Denny

They sure do. Lots of companies make the loaded rounds in cowboy loads. Prices will vary by manufacturer, but you may be able to get them cheaper by the case. I don't buy ammo any myself, I reload all the calibers I shoot.

Blue Drifter, you might consider the Scout or Deluxe 32-20 from Navy Arms also.
