Arcey,

That worked fine. The 1873 colt hard rubber grips fit good but were about 1/8" short at the bottom of the backstrap. I had to file edges for a clean fit and they look good. Thx again.

Rawhide Rio bought the 1876 Colt hard rubber grips (with the Eagle) for his pistol and gave the 1873's to me. Have a great day.

Hey all,

Who would ya'll recommend as to gunsmithing on a SAA, that will not require a loan (If I put a bunch into the Cattleman I could have purchased a USAA ;). Thx.

I usally take all my pistols to Bain and Davis for trigger jobs.  About $90.00.

I am going to try to go to vintage gun grips to see if they have some that will fit my Cimarron.

I can't speak for the the whole line, but we see many more Stampedes back for repair than Ubertis.

Adios,

Thank you for being you.. Annie Lee!

Did you ever get them? How did they fit?

I looked at a Beretta SA at a friends shop.  7.5 inch barrel, Nickel finish, fire blue screws, and nice overall finish.

Odd thing was the action.  Pretty smooth, but when you cocked the pistol and lowered the hammer slowly, it would catch before falling all the way.  A light push on the hammer, and it would drop completely.  The hammer seemed to function just fine when allowed to drop with trigger release.

I liked the pair of Charles Dalys much better, and you could buy both for about the same money as the Beretta! ;)

I am coming to the conclusion that Beretta, like Colt, is selling more of its name and not as much the gun.  For my money, I am very happy with the Cimarrons made by Uberti that don't have all the import safeties on them.

I am buying some grips that fit my Cattleman clean. Rawhide Rio did me a great favor by giving me a pair of Colt grips. They were just 1/8' short but are in great shape I wouldlike to return the favor to one of you and when my new grips come in I will give them to you (with free shipping_ jusy like he did! Is that okay Rawhide?

I just bought a Uberti 1866 yellow boy in Colt 45LC the workmanship was great. Very well done, needs some tuning but otherwise great rifle. :)
