 I have learned that our long time friend and member, Gary Strand "Ol Gabe"
has passed away. When I first joined NCOWS he was always very friendly
and helpful. He was a talented painter and I have a couple of his paintings.
You will be missed my friend. Thoughts and prayers to his family.

There is posse brewing up yonder, and a major straight shooter just signed in 
I like to believe they have a golden range, where errant shots don't count.
"Ol Gabe" will be there along with the others we miss, another of the GOOD guy's has gone home.

So sorry to hear. I remember Gary from the old Ackley days.

Sad news indeed.

He was a character, to be sure. Made an impression on my daughter the one time she camped with me at the Nationals at Ackley. That was the year of the inaugural Originals shooting as a category.

He often posted here in CAS City, and was a staunch supporter of NCOWS.

He was a strong supporter of the GAF as well. IIRC he was one of the original officers of the Department of the Missouri.

I met Gary at the 2005 NCOWS convention.
The picture below is Gary and Micah, AKA Runs With Scissors, at the 2006 NCOWS convention.
I got to know Gary more at the GAF Musters at Ackley.
I always enjoyed his posts here on CAS City.
