Brand new member here! I bought my first Spencer carbine and I am in love! I would like some help identifying it and if where it was issued.

I believe it's a model 1860 sent to Springfield Armory around 1867.  It has the cutoff installed and serial number is 39208 but there is no serial number matching under the barrel, only some marks.    The top of the barrel is not marked for a model 1865.

Any help would be appreciated.  I'll try to attach a picture of the underside of the barrel.

Thanks
Bryan

Rim fire

Why do you think this was sent to Springfield Armory? What is the caliber?  How many rifling grooves?  Pic of the receiver top would help.  Is the rear sight a model '65 or '60?
I have no idea why there are no markings on the barrel - there should be the same serial number as the receiver stamped on the bottom.

It appears to be a 3 groove barrel. 56-50. I guessed Springfield refit based on the cutoff being installed, the barrel not marked M65 and the cartouche on the stock.
