Goody! 1908 is only 3 years away.  ;D

What do you mean we're not living in 1905? ???

Yankee John

Very neat find!

If that is from 1908 though,  I think that they would still be 1st generation (up until 1940).

My understanding is the blackpowder frame is the 1st Gen. like the following.

NCOWS 2329, WartHog, SCORRS, SBSS, BHR, GAF, RBCS, Dirty RATS, BTBM, IPSAC, Cosie-in-training

Nope. You got that one wrong Slim. johnrtse is right 1st generation includes both frames and ends in 1940, 2nd generation is from 1956 to 1974.

Silver Creek Slim

I'z definitely not a Colt's expert, so I might be wrong.  :D

My oh my.............

'Cordin' ta my handy, dandy Inflation Calculator, that'd be $306.77 today.  Not bad.  Heck, I cain't buy a Uberti for that.  I'll take two.  32-20 in 7 1/2".

Nah....  I ain't wastin' my money on one of those out-of-date guns.  Nobody will ever want one beyond 1909 and if you ever try to resell it, nobody will buy it from you.  Why, it won't be long and you won't even be able to give 'em away!
God bless,

Big John Denny

You're probably right Birdgun Quail. Tell you what, I'll take any you got off your hands for that price listed in the Sears Roebuck catalog that Slim put up.

Big John...and all you others that would buy such an out-of-date gun (after all...it's the 20th Century)...it's your money...you can spend it foolishly any way you want.

Birdgun, now I see the problem. You're still in the 20th Century, but the rest of us are in the 21st.

You know I shoot Rugers, but I always like to keep a few of those old out dated Colts around to. They're just for looking at.

Serious now.  First, I'm certainly no Colt expert or historian.  The 1909 advertisement makes me wonder if this is not a clearance sale of surplus Peacemakers.  It is my understanding that during 1800's the Peacemaker sold for $17.00.  Here in 1909, they are selling them for $15.50.  Makes me wonder why??

Merry Christmas everyone!

I was wondering the same thing when I saw it. But, maybe Sears bought them in such a quantity that they could sell them at a discount.
