My prayers for you and your grandson. With that good Cowboy breeding he'll make it, pardner.

Will Ketchum

I want to thank everyone for the prayers for our grandson.  He has open heart surgery this morning and all is well but he still isn't out of the woods.  They had to leave his chest open until the swelling goes down.  They said that this is normal. The next 24 to 48 hours will be critical.  I would appreciate it is you could keep the prayers going for little Nicholas.

Will Ketchum

Here is an update.
We were in Milwaukee last night to see him.  They have closed his incision and removed him from some of the pain meds.  they have started feeding him formula again through a tube in his nose.  This resulted in his first poopy diaper since the surgery, which was a milestone.  Most of the time my wife and I were there his parents were at another clinic because she was having some problems.  Nicholas was awake and watched us most of the time.  He never crys but did scrunch up his face like he was going to.

They had hoped to remove him completely from the respirator today but decided to leave it for the time being.

The staff was amazed at the progress he is making.  We hope he might be home by his dad's birthday (1/9/06.

Thanks again for your prayers.

Wil:

You and I have been discussing this back and forth personally.  Like usual, I'm late to the party here.  I spend too much time in the Saloon with them other ne'er do wells.

Been pondering on Oscar, Matt and Gina.  Talking with the big guy.  I know of some folks here locally whose baby girl had a similar situation.  Little thing is 9 years old and you would never know it from looking at her.   I'm told even the scar isn't real noticable unless you get close to her (her grandma works with me, that's how I know.   I might be a dirty old man but I ain't a pervert).   So I expect that this young'un will be just fine as a frog's hair in short order.

I'll keep all you all in my thoughts and prayers and hope to see you this summer.  Give my best to the better half.

Fred
