Trying to track down information on the 1895 Krag Carbine , These are the pre US Acceptance carbine is the only thing I could find other than approximately 10,000 were produced.

They're the same as a M1896. The receiver on mine is marked 1895  no model.

According to "The American Krag Rifle and Carbine" by Poyer, the carbines produced from June of '95 to December of '95 were marked 1895, with no "Model"  before it.  There was no Model 1895 carbine.  For what it's worth, you should really get that book.  It will have all the information you're likely to need unless you get heavily into Krag collecting.
